Remodel mania

In today’s unpredictable real estate market, many homeowners are finding more value in remodeling rather than trying to sell their homes.
The owners of The Mexican Tile and Stone Company located in Phoenix and Tucson, got to work on gutting their 25- year old Moon Valley home down to its frame in March 2008. They envisioned a remodel utilizing the wide assortment of products available in their own stores, demonstrating their versatility.
“The versatility of our company’s products won’t cease to amaze,” Joe Fortuna remarks about his home’s unique looks. “We varied our patterns and designs to create an individual look.” Each room has been artistically redesigned with all Mexican Tile and stone products.
“Rather than a single theme, we’ve used aspects of different styles to invent a new ensemble,” Fortuna remarks.
To Director of Prados Design, Robert Peddle, a subsidiary of Mexican Tile and Stone, it seemed only fitting to use a mixture of in-store products, ranging from stone, hand-painted tiles, cement and glazed and unglazed tiles, to give each room a distinct look. One room was designed using old-style stone, creating a romantic mood, while one of the master suites utilizes travertine with inlayed marble. The kitchen impressively displays a hand-molded, domestic tile that wears like iron. This room offers a more casual environment.
The partnership between Mexican Tile and Stone and Prados Design is functional in helping customers to facilitate the entire remodeling process. This ranges from product shopping to design, and even finding a licensed contractor all while maintaining an economical budget.
“Prados gives a realistic picture of what a project in completion will cost,” Fortuna explains. “When finished, we can be within $200 to $300 of a project’s estimate.”
Additionally, the exterior of the home was recreated. Stone is used around the pool adding a variety of range and depth in their design. The pool also includes a picturesque mural. The front door features stacked cantera stone in the entryway alongside the door, giving grandeur, and regal appearance, like that of a castle.
“The objective of this remodel was to show people how you can mix and match all of our tiles to create a unique theme,” Fortuna said.
There are also plenty of environmental and economical benefits to installing stone and tile materials over other textiles such as carpet or wood.
Technological advances have increased the durability of these products and allow Mexican tile and stone to be quarried without danger or the use of chemicals.
The Fortuna’s home is to be utilized, by appointment, as a showcase for people to view the wide range of Mexican tile and stone products and the synergy of Prados Design.
In addition, Mexican Tile and Stone Co. has just recently remodeled its new showcase house at 2036 W. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85023. Both homes really show how exciting Mexican tile and stone can be, and how it all can work for you. The home at 2036 W. Greenway Road, (I-17 and Greenway Road), will be open Monday through Friday 8-5 and Saturday 9-4.
The activities start June 1, 2009. The Greenway home is open to the public and for contractors and designers to bring clients. Mexican Tile and Stone will be closing its 2222 E. Thomas Road location 5-31-2009. Join Mexican Tile and Stone in its new beginning and excitement.

Make it Immortal

Once Upon a Tile… Make it Immortal!

Simply entering the grandeur and tile walls of a well-known showroom featuring hand-painted Mexican tile and natural stone products can be an experience all in its own. However, one should not shy away from such an opportunity when there is an abundance of on-staff professionals for virtually any need and certainly, in essence, for any customer.

It is no wonder that a great number of customers seek the romance of hand-painted tiles, luxurious showers, fireplaces, and floors for their homes. Fortunately, a knowledgeable showroom staff will work with you or your interior designer to provide proper guidance in selecting the tile and stone needed to coordinate and enrich your home’s décor. An experienced tile professional will help circumvent costly selection mistakes, misconstrued tile applications, or anything of the matter.

However, enhancing and transforming one’s home into a more suitable, balanced, and enchanting abode does not mean completely starting over! Floors long forgotten and rooms seemingly lost amidst the trying years of life can and should be restored with the expertise of the refinishing offered by specialists.

Rooms can always be touched up, whether that means new to modern or simply polishing an older trend. The beauty and heritage of Saltillo tile is unmatched for creating the perfect ambiance for practically any décor style, whether it be Santa Barbara, Spanish, Southwest, Old World, or Rustic. It is important to remember, some care is required for natural stone and Saltillo tiles, and skipped routine maintenance may require some expert refinishing.

For a true specialist in glazed and unglazed, hand-painted and hand-molded tiles suitable for interior and exterior flooring, countertops, walls and pools, hand-crafted cement tiles, Mexican brick pavers, natural stones, and hand-painted sinks and accessories, you can call Mexican Tile and Stone Company at 602-954-6272 or 520-622-4352, and visit their website at www.mexicantileandstone.com

The restoration and refinishing division of Mexican Tile and Stone Company withholds over twenty years of experience, and can be relied on for presenting respected service of astounding quality to meet any customer’s standards. The on-staff interior designer and project manager can guarantee the proper application of whichever tile or stone is preferred and chosen to embellish and compliment a new or existing piece, such as a shower, fireplace or pool.

Mexican Tile and Stone Company also offers products perfect for the upkeep and maintenance of your new tile… why not make it immortal?

Grout Release for Saltillo Tile

Saltillo tile is an unglazed clay paver. A grout release is used prior to the grouting process to eliminate grout staining on the clay. A penetrating sealer is too strong to be used as a grout release. At Mexican Tile and Stone, we sell Grout Eze. It comes in 1 gallon and 5 gallon containers. It will not prohibit the bonding or penetration of oils and sealing products used after the grouting process. It's been used in the marketplace over 10 years with excellent success. Call for your pricing at (602)-954-6272.
